5 Minute
Competition Parklands Community Centre Alva The popular venue in Alva provides the setting for this annual competition for films up to 5 minutes long. There is always a good entry and SAM is delighted that Rob Day FACI has agreed to judge this years films. Rob is a very experienced judge having served on the panels for the British International Amateur Film Festival on many occasions. Guest Speaker – James Webber Parklands Community Centre Alva We are delighted to welcome James Webber who is visiting SAM
for the first time. James recently won a 5 star award and Best British
Entry Award in BIAFF (British International Amateur Film Festival) for his
thriller “Commitment”. James operates under the name “Fingercuff” a low
budget production house specialising in music videos. He is 28 years old
and has been making short films since the age of 17. James claims to have
an overactive imagination, which he puts down to being an only child, and
says that film making is a great way to vent the crazy ideas that bounce
around in his head. Members

The maximum running time for each film is 20 minutes - though this should not be seen as a target! The competition always attracts some good movies. This year the judges are good friends of SAM namely Reg & Annabelle Lancaster FACI’s who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our competition. Reg is the current President of the IAC. 15th – (Saturday:
