DATE : OCTOBER 5th - OPENING
MEETING REPORT BY: BRIAN SABERTON The first meeting of the new season took place on 5th October at the premises of Edinburgh Cine and Video Society. The main item was the premiere screening of the completed films from the 2008 workshop and everyone was keen to see how the different group movies had turned out. There was a short discussion after each film and the first half of the meeting concluded with a screening of the film of the event. The general consensus was that the standard of all the films was high. A compilation tape will be added to the SAM film library as soon as possible. After the break a selection of films from the 2008 Members
Competition that could not be included in the main programme on the day,
were shown. The films were all of a high standard and included
documentaries: “The Mace”, by Sean Groat, “A Visit to Remember” by Ken and
Jean McRonald, “Ceres” by Bruce Frazer and “A Visit to
SAM Chairman, Pat Menmuir thanked everyone concerned for such a successful and enjoyable afternoon.
